What Makes An Ideally Empowered Millennial Woman?

In this digital age, we are the Millennials rocking in this brave new world. We know that our trends are far from what our grandmothers used to live for. We can say they were old-fashioned compared to the lifestyle we have today.

During our grandmother’s time, it was easy to recognize ideal women because they were many. But as of these days, when we talk about ideal women, do they still exist? It could be hard to figure out of ten, it may be just one, two three or we still have more? Well, the answer depends on every woman because it is us who know ourselves, and aside from us knowing ourselves better, there is God who knows us very well. For me, an ideally empowered Millennial woman is far from being perfect, but at least we are still trying our best to be a mirror of inspirations and motivations to others, even if we stumble, we have learned to get up and move on. We also have different roles to take part in we are the granddaughter to our grandparents, daughter to our parents, sister to our siblings, wife to our husband, mother to our kids, plus the roles we have in our career.

We know that a woman means fully grown female adults and what makes us different from others is we are matured and responsible enough to make decisions of our own. Of course, it does not mean we are always at our best because, to be honest, this is exactly the moment wherein the most pressing situations in our lives commonly occurring but the good thing is that we are able to face it with ease and confidence because we are capable enough to handle the results of every action we take.

Mr. Google said, “a millennial woman is also called a Generation Y who Craves Attention, also known as a Tech-Savvy, Family-Centric, Achievement-Oriented, and Team-Oriented.” These are all true, and it also comes along with its own advantages and disadvantages. However, with the latest technology, we have today, as Millennials, it is easier for us to access, and influence others across the globe using Social Media, if we want to post, and share relevant information with the whole world it is just a few clicks away. And, it is our individual choice how are we going to influence if it is negatively or positively.

Having had spoke to different women, then after reading and watching stories of women from all walks of life, I found out one common observation, that no matter how successful we are as a woman, say for example in our career, it is only very rare chance that our lives, in general, would be running smoothly and perfectly. It is normally expected that somehow at some points or let me say just a certain part of our lives we are struggling and it could only be just silently but it only differing on the way how we handle it and that’s what really matters because ideally as a Millenial woman, we should know that just like our grandmothers God is still the real source of our inner strength for us to be really empowering. Once He is in our hearts, it is reflecting upon us and we are truly radiating all the positivities and beautiful energies.

Millennials are strong but we also need others to live as “No man is an island”, so it is also important for us to interact with others to celebrate our small wins, to share life with because if others need us of course we also need them. Every Millennial woman is an important part of the society we live in, and it is important that our voice must be heard. We are filled with passion, purpose, and power that’s why what a man can do can also do by a woman. But as a woman, we also have a soft-side that even though we are strong it doesn’t mean we don’t cry anymore because crying is not a sign of weakness but a symbol of truthfulness and pureness of heart just like what babies do. When they cry, it surely means something that needs special attention and we do need to seek the right solution right away.

Our world today is more complicated than before. As technologies evolve, they also bring about a lot of changes to our lives and even the environment. Sadly, as pollutions arise, depressions also arise globally. To help lessen these cases, as Millennials we have a very important role in our family, especially in molding our children. We should be their first teacher at home who teaches them the importance of proper education, and attitude. That way, we guide them on how to properly handle real-life challenges by thinking positively. During our most trying times, we often failed to think right because we don’t usually breathe in and breath out normally. Yes, it’s only a matter of inhale-exhale breathing activity, then remind ourselves that we only get stress when we rely on our own strength instead of on relying upon God to give us the strength that we need, this is the surest way to fight depression and then we should also learn to accept all the exact realities happening to our lives. We have different levels of comprehension but if we train our minds to always think right, we could also think of the right solution for every situation. Solving a real-life problem should not be based on a trial and error basis, that’s why we should not try to solve it experimentally because it’s so unwise to solve our problem by creating another problem. It needs our careful analysis before trying to solve it, we really have to be sure that we are working towards its appropriate solution. We should know how to weigh things out, and it will take a lot of courage, determination & discipline. There are also times we help others solve their problem. If we cannot help them, just avoid being part of the problem or at least try to give them a little bit of hope and inspiration.

Even though we live in a challenging world, Millennials are still happy individuals who also get tired but only choose to rest while never loses hope, and don’t give up. We understand that challenges are a normal part of life. We may not be lucky in everything, there might be something bad that happened in our past but we should not dwell too much on it. We must take into consideration that no matter what happens we cannot change our past but we have the option to do better each day. We just need to hold on to something we are lucky about and try to keep on doing things we are being passionate about because it gives us a sense of fulfillment.

Being one among the so-called “Millennial Women”, who live in this fast-changing world, we may not appreciate some of the exact ugly realities happening to our modern society but I have come to realize that we should learn to see and focus on the positive side of every situation then still would love to emphasize that being a woman, we are like other humans whose life is given by the Creator as a test to challenge for us to enjoy and nourish, not supposed to be ruined but to explore, experience and nothing could ever put us into a “win-win” situation of our lives unless we possess the right attitudes and we use our hearts intelligently in everything we do. That means having a pure heart and clean intentions. Then, I believe we cannot really do it if we don’t fear God.
